Short Biography Prof. Reda El Edel is a Professor emeritus of Economics at Ain Shams University, Cairo, Egypt. Prof. El Edel has obtained his B.Sc from Cairo University, 1962, M.Sc. from Birmingham University, 1968, and Ph.D. from the Soviet Academy of Science, 1971. Prof. Reda has been actively engaged in numerous activities, including banking, industry, and academic research in the fields of macro economics and middle-eastern politicastudies for more than 30 years. Prof. El Edel has authored seven books and numerous publications. Throughout his career, he supervised over 100 Master students and over 20 Ph.D. students in Egypt and abroad. Prof. El Edel has been also a consultant for many commercial and governmental institutes, such as the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Public Enterprise.
